Counted Needlepoint with

Margaret Bendig

Patchwork of Patterns

2 Sundays

June 3 & July 23 2018

Pre/Post Work Meetings

Saturdays

Counted Needlepoint builds your skills! Learn many stitches, thread manipulation, burying techniques, and color effects. This project uses multiple colors in a stitch to show the use of combinations in the definition of the stitch structure. If a patriotic theme isn’t your cup of tea, just change the colorway and you’ve changed the theme of the design.

There are 23 different stitches that compose this design, including addition to the borders.

Margaret will discuss the care and use of silk, silk laying techniques and pattern usage. Margaret’s experience is extensive and unique - she will open your eyes to the how and why of needle “work”.

This is a 2 Day Class with additional workshops for Required pre-work. Workshops will be May Saturdays

First class with Margaret on Sunday, June 2 gets you going on the project.  We will follow up with open workshops on Saturdays, at no additional cost, to encourage your progress.

Intermediate to Advanced stitchers.

There are many techniques we don’t often see in painted needlepoint. The removal of threads allows for a variety of surface effects as shown in this sampler. These techniques can be used on both canvas or fabric and are often used as decorative design elements on fine linens and couture garments.

Even if you’ve never tried this before, you will be amazed how easy it is to create these beautiful open stitches.  This is a beginning to intermediate sampler.

Margaret is a master teacher -  she doesn’t just teach a design to stitch but imparts an encyclopedic knowledge of the hows and whys of what makes the techniques work.

Join us for stitching sessions before, between, and after classes.
